Day One
On the Menu:
- NutriCoconut O’s Cereal
- Chicken Cacciatorre
- Chicken Breast
- Lemon Dessert Bar
Breakfast:
I was quite pleased with the cereal this morning. I am a huge coconut fan and there was just enough coconut flavor to make this cereal a special treat.
It didn’t go down as well with the low-fat milk as I’d hoped, but that’s only because I’ve allowed myself to switch back to whole milk over the last year or so. My plan is to stick with reduced-fat a while and then go all the way to fat-free.
Lunch:
This meal was in a little microwavable pot that I was able to just throw in my backpack and take to school with me. I ordered a salad to go along with it and heated it up in the commons microwave.
I love pasta and I was pleasantly surprised at how “not diet” it tasted. A lot of diet meals have that “something’s missing” taste, but this truly wasn’t lacking a thing.
Dinner:
I was so surprised at how moist this chicken breast was. The roll provided, however, left something to be desired. It wasn’t very tasty and the texture was a bit odd. I think I’ll buy my own whole grain rolls for future use.
I’m still a little hungry as I’ve definitely eaten less food than usual today. It’ll just take a little getting used to, I’m sure.
Dessert:
Yuck! Oh, dear. The lemon dessert bar left me reeling. Now I know what lemon furniture polish would taste like if sprayed directly onto my tongue! Yuck!
Summing it Up
Overall, so far so good. Except for the lemon dessert bar (the horror!), I was pleased with my food. I am still quite a bit hungry, but I know that in time I will adjust to my reduced food intake.
Keeping myself from a midnight munchie attack will be the hard part. I’ll report tomorrow on how it goes!
