  2. Does it promise success for everyone rather than tailoring its program to individual needs?
  3. Does it require a severe calorie limitation? Are entire food groups completely eliminated?
  4. Does it rely heavily on meal substitutes?
  5. Is it indiscriminate about the use of supplements?
  6. Is there a list of authors' or providers' credentials?
  7. Are there testimonials from people that you can contact?


Tips:

  1. Don't consider a diet unless and until you are convinced by solid evidence.
  2. Consult with your physician before you consider going on any diet.
  3. Seek the advice of a friend who lost weight and kept it off for at least a year.
