Swimsuit Season Sorrow...

Friday May 23, 2008
I have a confession: I am one of those sanctimonious people who shakes her head at the people who are frantically shopping on Christmas Eve while saying, "It happens the same time every year! Why do they wait?". Now I see that Christmas must creep up on some people the way swimsuit season has apparently done on me.

A few weeks ago I noticed the bathing suits on display at my favorite store and, perhaps in denial, I simply walked past them without a second thought. I have managed to avoid any gathering that a swimsuit would be required at for at least a decade, thus the swimsuit-aversion wouldn't have normally been a problem... but I have been invited on a Memorial Day picnic at the local lake, and, seeing that we'll be at 86 degrees Monday, I ventured into my closet... and I tried on a previous year's swimsuit. (Um, okay, eight years ago's swimsuit.) And, let's just say I've got a few pounds to go before that sucker's seeing the light of day again!

Oh, well, shorts and a tee it is... in the meantime, I'm getting right back on track with my calorie-counting efforts. I have been remiss the last few weeks. I'm making a fresh start today. (Time was, I would've waited until Monday, but time is of the essence!) Here are some ideas on getting back in the swing of things, if, you too have fallen off the wagon lately.
