The WHO recommends we get one hour of moderate activity most days to maintain a healthy body weight. If you don't exercise yet, it's time to start. It comes down to taking one step at a time... literally! Just walk!

Why is walking such a great way to start moving? According to a study in the International Journal of Obesity Related Metabolism Disorders, people who walk fewer than 5,000 steps a day are more likely to be overweight; those who walk more than 9,000 steps are more likely to be of normal weight.

Plus, the number of steps you take daily may be directly related to the size of your waist and hips, according to research.
