Sticking to your diet on vacation isn't exactly easy. It seems temptation is around every corner and it's tough to do the "work" weight loss requires when all you really want to do is rest and relax! Skip Breakfast

I know breakfast is supposed to be the most important meal, but I never really have an appetite for it. A glass of iced tea works for me! Eat an early lunch, around 11:30 or noon, and an earlyish dinner. This helps you avoid the lunch and dinner crowds and gives you time to burn off calories before bedtime. If you need a snack before bedtime, try nuts or fruit.

I walk everywhere

I feel the best way to see a new place is on my own 2 feet, and usually end up walking for 4-5 hours every vacation day. This allows me a little latitude to have a glass of wine or a dessert for dinner. I often lose a little weight on vacation in spite of these treats.

I bring my own snacks

I agree with your article... I always bring my own healthy snacks. There are just too many sugar-laden, high calorie, no-nutrition snacks available when you travel. So I bring bags of sunflower seeds, some Lara bars or Clif bars and lots of water.
