Day 6
And on today's menu ... crow! Yum! It's not technically allowable on any Phase of The SBD, but I'm bound to eat it thanks to an attentive reader who pointed out that in a previous entry I discussed eating a Kraft SBD-line meal replacement bar.
Now, this might seem acceptable being that I'm on the South Beach Diet and all ... but actually, this attentive reader is entirely correct. The SBD approved meal replacement bars are intended for Phases 2 and 3 (It says so on the box and the package.) and of course, I'm still on Phase 1.
I felt guilty at first. But, if I'm being honest, I have to tell you that eating that sweet, yummy bar quelled the last of those gosh-I'd-kill-for-a-cookie cravings I was suffering from three days into this diet.
Maybe it wasn't such a faux pas after all. At least now I actually look forward to enjoying those bars on Phase 2 and 3. Unless you count the fact that now instead of craving my much-missed ice cream and chips, I can't get that cinnamon creme bar off my mind! (But ... still, at least the cravings for those other things are gone. Aah!)
Alas, I'm back to eating that fowl of the not-so-tasty variety for now.
I'd like to share a tip a reader sent in response to my salad bar quandary from last entry. She simply ignores the menu at any restaurant and asks the server to bring her a small piece of grilled chicken and a mixture of steamed vegetables. Great idea!
Stay tuned, because soon I'll report tomorrow's weigh-in results. I'm thinking they're going to be pretty good, because these jeans were not the least bit roomy this time last week and today I had to reach for a belt ... which hasn't happened in quite a while!
