What is Alli?

Alli (pronounced ally) is the first over-the-counter, FDA-approved weight loss pill. It became available in 60-count and 90-count starter packs, and 120-count refills, at retailers in the U.S. in June 2007.

How does Alli Work?

Alli works in your digestive system to block some of the dietary fat you consume.

How Much Weight Will I Lose with Alli?

Alli's product literature claims it can help you lose up to 50 percent more weight than dieting alone.

Does Alli Affect My Appetite?

Instead of affecting your brain or nervous system, Alli does all of its work in your digestive system.

What Are the Side Effects of Alli?

If you eat a meal containing too much fat while taking Alli, you will experience some very unpleasant side effects.

How do I Get Alli?

Alli is available at many U.S. retailers such as drugstores and Wal-Mart. You do not need a prescription. You must be at least 21 years of age to buy Alli.

Who Should Not Take Alli?

People with some health conditions should not take Alli.

Additionally, people who are taking certain medications such as cyclosporine should not use Alli.

Be sure to talk to your doctor and read the label completely before taking this product.

How Do I Learn More?

The makers of Alli have published a book called The Alli Diet Plan that will help you learn to take Alli correctly and plan appropriate meals to eat in conjunction with its use.
