With all the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, it can be tough to make it to the walking track. But, that doesn't mean you have to put walking for weight loss on the back burner. Consider these ways to work walking into your regular routine, so you can keep walking during the holidays:

Start a neighborhood walking club that meets to walk daily. Knowing others are counting on you will help to motivate you.

Park as far away from stores and events as possible. (Safety permitting, of course.)

Use stairs instead of escalators and elevators in the shopping mall.

Wear clothes you can walk in to bed so the morning chill won’t get the best of you when changing. (And drive you back under the covers!)

Walk to do errands or attend community events whenever you possibly can.

Walk a "lap" or two around the store -- even the grocery store! -- before shopping.

Walk at lunch ... it's warmer and sunnier than it is before work or after dinner.

Find ways to have seasonal fun while walking, like caroling or touring the neighborhood to take in the decorations.
