Definition: Abdominal bloating is a condition in which the abdomen (belly) feels full and tight. Overeating is a common cause of abdominal bloating.

Rarely, tumors, such as those arising from ovarian cancer, can cause abdominal bloating. Talk to your doctor if you experience abdominal bloating more than occasionally.
Also Known As: belly bloat
Examples: Karen skipped breakfast, so when she finally ate lunch she was overly-hungry, leading her to overeat and experience abdominal bloating.
