Looks like I'm not the only one who's not a fan of the low-fat varieties on the market since so many of you asked about this dressing! This recipe was shared with me while I was trying Weight Watchers out. A tablespoon has about 25 calories and just 2 grams of fat.

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup nonfat buttermilk
  • 1 cup low-fat mayonnaise
  • 2/3 cup fat-free sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground pepper (I use black pepper from the spice rack.)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic, pressed
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (Splenda is fine, too.)

Preparation:

Combine ingredients in a mixing bowl. Blend or whisk until texture is smooth. Cover. Refrigerate overnight. Serve cold. Is great on salads, wraps, and as a vegetable dip.

Nice, but sweet, Member DanMcGuire

Despite all the non-fat ingredients (we used fat-free Miracle Whip, too) this has a nice, not artificial taste. It has a thick consistency, more like a dip than a salad dressing. It is a bit sweeter than we prefer salad dressings (like French rather than Ranch), so next time we'll try half the Splenda and a splash more buttermilk.
