Break the Fast

While we are asleep all night, our bodies go into "fasting" mode. Here is yet another reason you should eat breakfast: Eating something within the first hour of being awake may actually raise your metabolism. If so, then your metabolism will burn more efficiently throughout the rest of the day, and thus use up calories more effectively, when you eat breakfast soon after awakening.
