South Beach Diet A to Z: Phase 1

Who Should Follow Phase 1?
Anyone just beginning The South Beach Diet should start in Phase 1 and remain on it for at least two weeks. It is also appropriate to temporarily return to Phase 1 if you have been on the later Phases for a while and find your weight loss has stalled or you are gaining weight back.

Please note: Nursing moms, pregnant women, children and teens should not follow Phase 1 of The South Beach Diet.
