Stress Goes to Your Stomach

We all know stress is bad for us. It damages our overall well-being and wreaks havoc on our emotions and mental state. But did you know it also affects your waist line? Even if you’re maintaining a healthy weight, it stress may cause your pants size to rise.

The March 2001 issue of “Walking” magazine reported that researchers at Yale University have found a connection between abdominal fat and stress in otherwise slim women: “They found that in a group of 59 white women, those with excess weight at their mid-line, regardless of their being thin or overweight, handle stress less well.” *
