About Weight Watchers

What is The Weight Watchers Plan?
The newest version of Weight Watchers is the Core Plan which controls calories by focusing on a core list of wholesome, nutritious foods without tracking or counting. The list includes foods from all the food groups that have low-energy density or few calories per unit volume.

With the Flex Plan approach, you have a daily Points target. It's based on your weight and changes as you progress with your weight loss.

Every food has a Points value, so nothing's off limits. You can earn "Activity Points" by exercising. You also have a reserve of 35 FlexPoints to spend throughout the week, however you like.

How Much do I Use Points?
At your first Weight Watchers meeting, you will find out how many Points you are allotted each day. Each food has a particular Points value, which you can compute with a slide tool called a Points Finder. During the week, you will record the number of Points you eat at each meal on a pre-printed food journal pamphlet.

How Often do You Attend Meetings?
You return to meetings weekly to weigh in and enjoy a short class presented by your leader. You can also do Weight Watcher online or with their at-home program.

How Much Does it Cost?
The rate of registration and meetings vary from location to location. My local meetings are $11 a week and there is a registration fee when you sign up.
