What are the Side Effects?
As with other carb-reducing diets, it's likely that you'll experience constipation. Other side effects related to this diet are heartburn, a sense of fullness or bloating around the abdomen, as well as water retention. Dr. Schwarzbein says if you do experience these side effects that they will pass as soon as you become more accustomed to your new way of eating.

How does it Work?
Remember, calories are calories and calories are what cause you gain weight. Whatever diet you choose and whatever method each program uses, they're all means to the same end: less calories means weight lost. You're just cutting your calories this way instead of by tallying them with a counter or following a set meal-plan/recipe-based reduced-calorie diet.

Are there any Dangers?
Not getting enough fiber could lead to digestive woes. Some dieters tend to experience a sense of listlessness or sadness after about three days on low-carb plans. There is a risk of kidney problems. Additional general side effects of low-carb diets include nausea, headache, and bad breath.

Will it Work?
You're not guaranteed that you will lose weight, especially not right away. It could take months to "heal" your metabolism and achieve weight loss. The maintenance phase is meant to be stuck to for life. Can you stay on this kind of plan for life? Do you think it will get a little monotonous? Will you be as devoted to maintenance as you were to losing the weight? When people go off the maintenance phase of low-carb diets, the weight usually comes back with a vengeance.
