"Click This!": Planning Pointers

Friday June 19, 2009
I recently completed a nutrition course, and at the end of the semester, my teacher asked each student to say what the most important thing he or she had learned from the course that could be applied to daily life. I could have listed a dozen things, but to narrow it down: I realized just how much I hadn't been taking the time to properly plan my meals ... instead I had been "trusting" myself to make healthy choices when time to eat came around.

When I said this, my instructor did one of those "Coulda had a V-8!" palm to forehead smacks as if I should have know better all along.

Sadly, I did not. When it comes to doing things in advance, I am a complete failure -- procrastinator extraordinaire.

I will definitely need some guidelines to change my ways. Which must be why I loved this recent article by my fellow health Guide, Kimberley Eggleston, here at About.com. I'm thinking about planning next week's dinners as I type this!
