Shorter workouts -- such as 20 to 30 minutes -- can be just as effective as longer ones when done consistently and often enough.

You may be more likely to stick to exercise if you do shorter workouts and potentially build more muscle since you'll be active for a longer period of time than if you overdo it and quit too soon.

Remember, muscle burns calories more efficiently so when you keep it up, you'll lose more weight after working out, too, even if it's "just" 20 minutes!
