One Terrific Timing Tip...

Wednesday August 1, 2007
Did you know that eating every three to four hours can actually help you lose weight? That's right, eating more often may help you keep pounds at bay!

The reason this strategy works for weight loss? Eating every few hours will keep your metabolism "revved up" and as an added plus, you will never get overly-hungry.

Plan to work in three healthy meals and two snacks over the course of your day and you'll find eating every three or fours hours is a breeze. By keeping your metabolism going strong and heading off over-eating by curbing hunger pangs, you can lose weight more easily than if you go too long without eating or -- the worse dieting offense! -- skip meals entirely.

Try to keep each meal or snack as well-balanced as possible (a third of your plate should be filled with whole grains and vegetables, each, at every full meal) and you'll be on track.

Aim for about 1,400-1,500 total calories a day and you can expect to lose around a pound to a pound a half weekly, depending on your current caloric intake and your ongoing activity level.
