Keep a Food Diary

I used to get a little creative when keeping a food diary. For example, I wouldn't count chocolate candies eaten at the secretary's desk, because: a.) I was standing up b.) I didn't really want them, they were just there and c.) her feelings would have been hurt if I hadn't eaten at least a dozen. My editorial viewpoint caught up with me eventually. Lesson learned? The only good food diary is an honest food diary.
